A native of Virginia, Dr. Overton attended Richmond public schools, Yale College, and Colgate Rochester Divinity School. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School in 1971. After internship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Dr. Overton returned to UVA for completion of training, serving as Chief Resident from 1973-74. He currently holds a clinical appointment at the University School of Medicine and is Board Certified in Family Practice.
Jee Eun Lee-Karl, M.D.
Born in Korea and raised in Panama, Dr. Jee Eun Lee Karl received her medical degree from the University of Panama in Panama City. She then completed her residency in family medicine at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY. After relocating to Northern Virginia with her husband and daughter, Dr. Lee Karl joined Heritage Family Practive in 2014.
Dr. Lee Karl is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO). She is fluent in English, Spanish and Korean.
Dr. Jee Eun Lee Karl believes in actively listening to her patients’ concerns and issues, and then improving their quality of life either through traditional or complementary medicine.
Jeffrey B. Conklin, MD
Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Dr. Jeffrey Conklin was born in Orchard Park, NY and received his Medical Degree from The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2002. Upon successful completion of the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Conklin started practice at the MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center in 2006. He has been practicing in Northern Virginia since January 2011 and joined Heritage Family Practice in July, 2014. .
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2006 and the American Board of Pediatrics since 2007, Dr. Conklin is a member of the American College of Physicians and a fellow of the American Association of Pediatrics.
Dr. Conklin believes in helping patients learn as much as they can about their medical conditions and the latest general health recommendations so that they can make the best decisions possible to maximize their wellness.
Jean Cox, FNP-C
Jean Cox is a board certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated from Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She then earned both her bachelor’s degree and her Masters of Science in Nursing at George Mason University in collaboration with the George Washington University’s School of Medicine. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
Jean has practiced as a family nurse practitioner for more than 10 years in the primary care setting, caring for both pediatric and adult patients. She is particularly interested in women’s and children’s health. Additionally, Jean has multiple years of experience providing international humanitarian healthcare in Honduras, Indonesia, Ecuador, and Haiti with Project Hope on the U.S. Navy ships, Mercy and Comfort.
Jean strives to help patients achieve optimal health by caring for them in a collaborative manner. Her goal is to have patients actively participate in the management of their personal medical problems and health maintenance.
Before joining Heritage Family Practice, Rachel spent more than 10 years providing primary care for a large multispecialty practice in Loudoun County. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active with her three children, running, paddle boarding, and traveling.
